Painting Tudor style banners at Cheam Library

The work has inspired six canvas pieces to be created by James Rowse, scenery painter for the Globe Theatre.  These will then be hung in Cheam Library.

Public funding from the London Borough of Sutton and Arts Council England and the six banners will be produced as part of the Imagine festival of the arts  2015.

Tudor banners

The first stage of the banners focused on local places of interest in Cheam, ideas from coats or arms historical events.  The banners are being reproduced in vivid colours that were much used in the Tudor era.
