Imagine Festival of the Arts 2015

Dear reader reader, as a subscriber to the Friends of Cheam Library newsletter, we invite you to a unique painting workshop that will help transform Cheam Library!  Some funding from the Arts Council England and the National Lottery has been awarded to Sutton to undertake this initiative

Try YOUR hand at painting and collage using beautiful Tudor colours and gold tones to create symbols and motifs which richly describe Tudor times in the court of Henry VIII.

This workshop is part of the Imagine Festival of the Arts 2015 to help create one of six banners, which will mirror a banquet hall of Henry VIII.

Learn about the history of Cheam’s buildings and symbols by helping to create 6 banners that richly describe Tudor times.

To celebrate the installation, we will have a BIG reveal on 28th October and invite you to celebrate with us.

Workshop date Thursday 6th August 2pm to 3.30pm

If you would like to attend this unique event here in Cheam Library, please let us know quickly.

RSVP to Jonathan Pritchard

Thank You...!

And finally, we had a good New Books coffee morning this week with a good turn out of interested library users.

Paula Bier, Cheam Library, led the session outlining some of the new books available and providing reviews and comments.  It was nice to sit, relax, chat about the new books and enjoy a coffee or a tea!

Members of the New Books group get to take out the books before they go into general circulation.  These events are held every 3 months and the next one is on Wednesday 23rd September at 10.30am for about an hour.

Put the date in your diary!
